Design & Imagery

The set features two primary hand-painted designs that alternate across the cups:

• Whirling Dervishes: These figures represent the Sama ceremony. They are depicted in fluid, energetic brushstrokes with wide, circular skirts in bold colors like orange, turquoise, and magenta. Each dervish is set against a circular, earthy-gold background that resembles a halo or a moon.

• Misbaha (Prayer Beads): Alternating between the dervishes are cups painted with colorful prayer beads. The beads match the color palette of the dervishes (orange, blue, and pink) and feature a bright blue tassel at the end.

To safely clean handmade painted products, always wash them gently by hand with warm soapy water, avoid abrasive scrubbers, and never put them in the dishwasher. This preserves the paint and glaze while preventing cracks or fading.

🧼 Step-by-Step Cleaning Guide

1. Hand Washing Only

• Use lukewarm water (not hot or cold) to avoid thermal shock that can crack the ceramic & acrylic 
• Mild dish soap is best—avoid harsh detergents or bleach.
• Soft sponge or cloth only; never use steel wool or abrasive pads that can scratch the painted surface.

2. Rinsing

• Rinse thoroughly to remove all soap residue.
• Soap left behind can dull the glaze or damage delicate paint over time.

3. Drying

• Pat dry with a soft cotton towel immediately after washing.
• Avoid air-drying in humid environments, which can leave water spots or encourage mold growth.
